Styles A/B/C/D

The best known standard type of Sturtevant Portable Forges. They were adapted for all light work such as wagon and carriage smiths, tool makers and blacksmiths.

 

         

Design Specifications:

 

WEIGHT - 117 to 300lbs
TYPES - 4 (A,B,C,D)
SIZES - 8 (A1-A8), 5 (B4-B8), 4 (C4-C7), 4 (D4-D7)

Construction Features:

Style A had either a 7" forge hood connection (natural draft) or 6" (blower exhaust).

Variations included an electric forge motor (Style D), belt-driven (Style C), or multiple forges with a common blower connection (Style B).
